AMD launched its latest-generation processor with codename Thuban.
For this new processor, AMD Phenom stick with the naming of his second, and named it with a Phenom processor II X6. Unlike Intel which has been using for the fabrication of 32 nm processors Core i7 his 980X, AMD still choose to use 45 nm fabrication to produce Thuban. However, although still using the fabrication of 45 nm, this processor has a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 125W. TDP values are the same as AMD Phenom X4 stepping C3 II (latest revision).

45 nm fabrication process, which used AMD’s getting better because there is no increase in TDP II X6 1090T Phenom processor, although it has two extra cores.

Not only that, the Phenom II X6 also still uses the same CPU socket, the AM3 and AM2 +. For those users AM3 and AM2 + motherboard, no need to require additional funds to replace the motherboard when want to upgrade the processor that is currently used to Phenom II X6. You only need to do a BIOS update to the latest version and ensure that the motherboard has been used to support the use of processor-125W TDP.

At the initial launch, the Phenom II X6 comes in two models numbering, ie Phenom II X6 X6 Phenom II 1055T and 1090T. Phenom II X6 1055T comes with a clock speed of 2.8 GHz and 6 MB L3 cache. While Phenom II X6 1090T core clock runs at 3.2 GHz and the same amount of L3 cache on Phenom II X6 like 1055T, which is 6 MB.
