July 5th, 2010 by By webku # Tips and Triks

To take a screenshot of your desktop screen on the Mac, Mac OS X provides two methods. The first method uses a tool called Grab. The second method uses a combination of shortcut.

You can capture the entire screen by using the shortcut [Command] + [Shift] + [3]. In addition, you can also take a screen capture of some of the contents by using the [Command] + [Shift] + [4]. In combination [Command] + [Shift] + [4] is a new cursor will appear. Click and hold down the mouse / trackpad on one edge of the area you want to take, and then drag it horizontally or vertically to select the area to be captured. When you release the mouse, the screen area that was selected will be saved to your desktop.

Hold [Command] + [Shift] + [4] and then press the Space Bar, a small camera icon appears. When you move the camera icon on the element you wish to take, these elements will be highlighted. Click the mouse or trackpad, and you’ve captured a screenshot of the element without the other images in the background.
